Who I teach
Beginning students
Learn the fundamentals of bassoon playing. I work with students switching from another instrument as well as full beginners.
Advanced students
Expand your abilities and your artistry. I help students prepare for All-State auditions. For those interested in a college music major, I provide guidance and coaching to get into a great program.
Adult & returning players
Studying the bassoon is fun and rewarding! I'm happy to work with students of all ages, including those who might have spent some time away from their instrument but are ready to jump back in.
FAQ
What about reeds?
I sell handmade bassoon reeds to my students and can recommend other quality reedmakers.
When can my kid start?
Usually around sixth or seventh grade. Short-reach bassoons are available for students with smaller hands.
What’s the cost?
I charge $75 for a one-hour lesson and $25 for reeds.
